Steps to Add a Debit/Credit Card to PayWay Wallet
Step 1: Start by Adding a Card
Click on Account at the bottom of the screen and then on ADD/EDIT yellow button.
Step 2:
If you are already paying for something, choose your Payment Method during the payment stage (for example your available card, or wallet balance), or click on the yellow rounded plus sign (+) to add a new card.
Step 3: Enter Card Details and Save the Card
You will be prompted to enter your card information:
- Card Number
- Expiry Date
- CVC/CVV
- Name on Card
Click on Save Card and you will see a Card Verification and Authentication popup.
Step 4: Confirmation of Card Addition
To verify your card, a small refundable charge will be made in local currency (UGX). You need to check your card statement, SMS, or notification for the exact amount charged.
Click on ok, and you will see a message confirming that your card has been added. This could take a few moments.
Step 5: Confirm the Card
A message confirming the addition of your card will appear. This process may take a few moments.
If your card does not show up right away, go back to the home screen, then go to Account → Payment Methods (like in Step 1), and tap the Add/Edit button (orange).You should see a greyed-out card in the list.
Step 6: Confirm the Card
Click on the greyed out card and enter the amount in UGX that was temporarily blocked on your account for verification in the popup.
Note: You can find this amount in your bank statement, SMS, or notification from your card issuer. You have 3 attempts to confirm the card. Enter the correct amount and click Finish.
Card is ready to use!
If the amount is correct, the card will no longer be greyed out and will be ready for use. You can now select your card for payments via the CHOOSE PAYMENT METHOD button during the payment process.
Renaming the Card
• First, click and hold on the card. This will bring up an option to rename the card.
• Enter the new name you want, like “Company Card” or “Personal Card.”
• When you’re done, click the green checkmark to save the new name, or red cross otherwise.
Viewing the Renamed Card
Once renamed, the card will show up on the My Cards screen with the new name. Now, you can easily tell which card is which without needing to remember the card number or details.
